This is a postcard design for a Research and Scholarly activity panel.
We were given a live project at university (working with an actual client) The Research and Scholarly activity panel are a new faculty opening in the colchester institute, they basically help tutors research. I was working in a group with a couple of class mates, we used this switch board design to show a visual metaphor of research and what research is and can do. Its never ending and has so many different routes and links. Also the ripped textured paper i thought gave the affect of an old library book the first thing that comes to mind (for me) when thinking of research also the colour of the type felt like an old leather book, this fitted well with my design path.
